Services & Advocacy for LGBT Elders

SAGE Western Massachusetts'
primary mission is to significantly improve services and programs for aging lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community members in our region.  We are dedicated LGBT people and allies who volunteer our time to serve elders.

We are one of the newest affiliates of SAGE USA (founded in 1978), the world's oldest and largest non-profit agency addressing the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender elders.

As advocates for LGBT elders we now offer cultural competency training for Aging Providers and other LGBT organizations through our partnership with the National Resource Center on LGBT Aging. Please contact us to schedule a training.

Upcoming events include:

  •    Educational series and Social Gatherings at the Northampton Senior Center  the last Wednesday of every month. Join us 1-3pm.
  •    Educational series and Social Gatherings at the Bangs Community Center in Amherst the first Thursday of every month.
  •    SAGE Salon, an opportunity to explore subjects in depth and have lively discussions.

Check out our new Events Page for our calendar of upcoming events!

Our first edition of the Western Massachusetts Resource Directory for LGBT Elders is now available. The free print version will be at various locations around the Valley or download it now. A new, expanded edition will be coming out later this spring.
